Her presentation hit on topics I had never considered, but immediately recognized in my own professional life. Sammy was an engaging speaker, combining her own personal experience with neuroscientific data and strategies for growth and healing. What resonated most for me is that you simply cannot outthink or out-rest a dysregulated nervous system — and that it isn't until you identify the root cause of your mindset struggles, and figure out a way to shift same in your favor, that you can truly heal from burnout and overwhelm and move forward. I was surprised to learn that our core beliefs are forged so early in our lives (before 10!) and are probably rooted in some sort of negativity or trauma — but that by changing those beliefs, we can create positive change and beat burnout. This was an engaging, focused presentation that held my attention and gave really good data-driven tips and strategies. I'd recommend her!
